Learning Abroad Opportunities
Spend anything from a month, trimester or full academic year abroad and in some cases, earn credit that counts towards your UCD degree. Opportunities available through:
- Exchange & Erasmus+: Study at our Erasmus+ and other partner institutions worldwide, usually without additional tuition fees.
- Erasmus+ BIPs: Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) are short-term international study opportunities within any of the EU member states or associated countries.
- Erasmus+ Traineeships: Gain work experience abroad.
- Outgoing Short-term Mobilities: Usually lasting between 5 days-3 months and running in the summer, but there are programmes available throughout the year.
UCD also offers other opportunities, through UCD Volunteers Overseas, Erasmus+ ICM, NICE and Universitas 21.

Erasmus Charter for Higher Education
UCD’s current Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) was awarded in December 2020, enabling participation in the Erasmus+ programme 2021-27. The ECHE, supported by the Erasmus Policy Statement, acts as the quality framework for higher education institutes participating in Erasmus+ activities.
